Dean meets Cassie, who knows exactly what he's after, and draws him a picture of it. He thinks she just likes drawing porn. She tells him she thinks she has to help him with something.

Brooke's feeling down after she learns about Sylar's insanity, and Dean accidentally implies he got her a gift. He tries to feel out what she'd want, but she's not really buying it, and he slips that it's purple, boxing himself into a corner. Then they have a real conversation about her family, and how her dad lost his job, and... it's touching. She tells him that she lost her purple monkey when they sold everything. And then she tells him all about Lucas and Peyton, and he talks about Sam and his childhood, a little.

Need advice on apurple gift.
In which:
+ Sylar suggests he get "a box of purple condoms and screw her brains out". Dean being Dean... thinks this idea has merit.
+ Other-Claire suggests he dyes a rose purple. She also threatens to make him watch American Idol and gets upset to learn Elle is still there. When Dean realizes she has no idea about the whole vessels thing, he explains it to her, and about how God is missing.
+ Lana Lang tells Dean that the gift isn't as important as who it comes from.
+ Buffy is shocked, thinking Dean is... trying to be romantic. Dean's kind of offended by her skepticism. She introduces him to the Purple Store. He explains his thing with Brooke to her, and she's the only person to agree with him that it's probably better not to tell her about what he really does. She shows some insight into why he doesn't generally do relationships.
+ Tess suggests bath oils and they discuss marriage. (Or rather, the lack thereof).
+ Elle tells Dean that everyone's suggestions are going to give Brooke the wrong message, and offers to help him shop for something more ~grown up~ for her, in exchange for great sex.
+ Then Dean gets attacked by future spawn from various dimensions, including his and Elle's two kids, his daughter with Sylar, and Sylar and Claire's daughter. His head practically explodes.
+ Dean meets another Buffy, who's rooming with Noah and knows about the Company. She doesn't approve of his one night standing.
+ Sam makes the world's gayest suggestions.
+ Claire judges Dean for not knowing very much about Brooke, but suggests purple candles and agrees to take him to the store so he doesn't have to go buy them on his own, and compromise his manliness.

Dean gives Other-Claire an 'aww' moment when he tells her she'll always be Claire, no matter what they call her. When he tells her that Elle took him to buy adult gifts for Brooke, she freaks out on him and tells him that Elle only did that so that Brooke would get pissed off. Dean ends up hurting her feelings because of his obliviousness to her crush, and she tells him that she's going out with Chuck Bass that night. He doesn't like the sound of that guy. She makes the mistake of telling Dean his full name and where he lives. After this discussion, he googles the asshole and finds a lot of disturbing talk about what a player he is, so he immediately contacts Sylar, and gets Hiro to bring him to New York.
In NYC, Dean tracks down Chuck Bass at his hotel and confronts him. He ends up punching him in the nose and tasering some security guards, before he has to book it so he doesn't get arrested. Sylar tracks him down separately and uppercuts him, so Chuck thinks he's having the worst day ever. He ends up having to wear makeup for his outing with Claire.

Sam fails at baking Claire cupcakes and Dean would offer advice if he... knew anything about baking. Sam assures Dean that he'd come to him if he needed advice on things he's actually an expert on: like sex. Dean is touched. And then, because he knows Dean better than anyone else in the world, Sam assures him out of the blue that that he's still as important as Claire is to Sam and no one can replace him. They hug it out like men.
Dean says goodbye to Elle, who promises to send him pictures of her and Becky in Brazil.
Other-Claire tells Sylar about her feelings for Dean, and he does not approve of this fuckery. He tells her it might wise to stay away from him for awhile. She also tells Sam and he incredibly weirded out by this. And Cas gives her a big fat I Told You So.
When Other-Claire laments Dean's inability to notice her, he misinterpts it to mean Chuck pulled something, but she assures him otherwise. Dean promises her they'll train soon, and she says maybe she shouldn't, after everyone told her to have some distant from Dean. He talks her out of her hesitancy though.
Dean asks Castiel if he can take him to Brooke's before they go clue-hunting tomorrow, and doesn't notice that Castiel's upset by the suggestion. Cas agrees, however.
Dean arrives in Tree Hill, and brings Brooke her gift: a purple monkey. She's incredibly touched and names it Mr. Monkey II. They talk about life and he tells her about the AC/DC concert and says she can go if someone backs out on him. And he eventually makes a move, but she's uncomfortable with leaping back into the physical side of things after what happened. However, in the end she relents.
After leaving Brooke's, Dean finds out from Castiel that there's a minotaur in New Harmony, and tells him he's ready to go. Castiel shocks him by saying that he's going without him, and expressing discontent with Dean 'giving him orders'. He abandons Dean in Tree Hill without a ride.
Dean asks a stranger if he's heading to South Dakota, and it turns out to be Michael, the Arch-angel, because Dean just has all the luck. However, it's a Michael from another dimension entirely, and when Dean finds this out, they actually have a conversation about what's going on in Dean's universe with the angels and the Apocalypse. Dean asks him about a world where God's still around and Michael is disturbed by the thought of a world where he isn't. Dean also asks him about what he thinks God will do to Cas if they find him, and Michael assures him that God will reward Castiel for his faithfulnesss. Finally, Michael leaves him with a gift of comfort that he needed a lot more then he'd ever let on to anyone. As Dean goes on his way, Michael leaves him a single black angel feather, which he takes.

In which:
+ Dean meets another angel from Michaels' world: Alexiel, the Voice of God. After making some jokes about God picking a woman to do all the talking, and finding her open to his sense of humor, they get along pretty famously.
+ Dean sits on Brooke's porch thinking for awhile, after his encounter with the angels. She comes out and finds him, and he surprises her with a talk about religion, God, and free will. She offers him comfort.
+ Other-Claire arrives, and sits on a bench with Dean for a bit to snag some alone time before they have to get in the car with Sylar (who was not going to let her road trip alone with Dean after finding out about her crush). He tells her about running into Michael, and then lets her know he doesn't mind her taking care of him, before they get in the car.
+ In the car, Sylar wants to know what that thing is, and Dean explains it's an angel feather. Turns out Sylar didn't know about the vessel story either, so he shares that, and Sylar gives him amazing advice.
+ Michael's glad to see Dean kept it and tells him to keep it close for comfort.
+ Anya talks to Dean about the properties of angel feathers. Such as how they make a good stew. She tries to overcharge him for a book, and he won't bite.
+ In a future-dated thread, Dean gets back to South Dakota, and talks to Claire about how this Michael was more like how he imagined angels would be. He tells her what he asked about Castiel, and that Michael gave him the feather as a gift. He lets her know he intends to see if he can find a way to use it as a protective charm, like Anya said.

Dean, Other-Claire, and Sylar take the ultimate day and a half cross country road trip from Tree Hill back to South Dakota on St. Patrick's Day. These three in a car together is just a recipe fordisaster magic. Witness them arguing over where to eat, missing American Idol, getting Happy Meal toys, and texting Molly pictures of Sylar trying to kill Claire. It's a big jumble but it's... endless entertainment.
The three of them stop at Chubby's bar in Ohio, so Sylar and Claire can watch American Idol and Dean can celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
While there, Claire sneaks him a kiss, and he's drunk enough to ask her if she wants a real one, and oblige. Sylar returns from the bathroom too late to stop this.
He also convinces Alexiel to try out what it's like for humans to drink.
Elle texts Dean pics of her and Becky as promised.

Zebra-Claire isn't happy to learn about how Other-Claire faceplanted in Dean's crotch while Sylar was swerving the car around. She talks with Sylar about this Dean situation and he lets her know Dean kissed Other-Claire at the bar.

+ Faith hears 'tappin' instead of 'tapin'. Oops.
+ Dean tells Sam he got him a Star Wars toy by way of thanks, and Sam says he doesn't care about Star Wars. Dean questions his masculinity.
