[livejournal.com profile] sixwordstories: you wanna cry but nothin's comin' | they're gonna

I see you there,
don't know where you come from
Unaware of a stare from someone
Don't Appear to care
that I saw you, and I want you

What's your name?
Cause I have to know it
You let me in and begin to show it
I'm terrified
cause you're headed straight for it,
might Get it

Hear the song playin on background
All alone but you're turnin up now
And everyone is risin to meet ya,
to greet you

Turn around and you're walkin toward me
I'm breakin down
and you're breathin slowly
Say the word and I will be your man,
your man, say when

(Chorus)
And my own two hands
will comfort you tonight, tonight
Say when
And my own two arms
will carry you tonight, tonight

Come close and then even closer
We bring it in but we go no further
We're separate
two ghosts in one mirror, no nearer

Later on if it turns to chaos, hurricane comin all around us
See the crack, pull it back from the window,
you stay low, say when

(Chorus)
And my own two hands
will comfort you tonight, tonight
Say when
And my own two arms
will carry you tonight, tonight

Come across you're lost and broken
You're coming to,
but you're slow and waking
You Start to shake,
you still haven't spoken,
what happened

They're comin back
and you just don't know when
and you wanna cry
but there's nothin comin
They're gonna push
until you give in, say when

Now we're here and it turns to chaos,
hurricane comin all around us
They're gonna crack,
don't you back from the window,
you stay slow

It all began with the man and country
Every plan turns
another century around again
And another nation fallen

Maybe god can be on both sides of the gun
never gone, understood why
some of us never get it so good,
so good
Some of this was here before us
All of this will go after us
It Never stops until we give in, give in, say when

(Chorus)
And my own two hands
will comfort you tonight, tonight
Say when
And my own two arms
will carry you tonight, tonight
say when

And my own two hands
will carry you tonight, tonight.
say when
And my own two hands
will comfort you tonight, tonight...

After helping save Elle, Ruby's getting thanked by everyone but Dean, who figures she wants something.

-----------April Fool's Day
-------------

Sylar figures out that it was Dean who put Nair in his shampoo.

When Percy 'breaks up with' Other-Claire as a lame April's Fool's joke, Dean threatens him.  And so does everyone else.

Dean and Future!Peter discuss pranking Sylar.  Peter fears they may have gone an eeeensy bit too far.

When Dean talks to Other-Claire about what Percy did, it ends up finally coming out that he knows she has feelings for him, and she confesses the extent of them, more or less.
It all turns into a waffle-conversation where Bon Jovi becomes a metaphor for... the possibility of Claire cheating on Percy with Dean, and he gets uncomfortable when she says no one would ever have to know, and changes the subject.  She finally goes to buy them some drinks, and he turns down her offer to find him a girl for the night.

-----------------

A freakin' baby in my car!

In which:

+  Other-Claire tries to offer Dean some help on what to do with the thing.
+  Sam is not okay with this.
+  Jordan suggests Dean make sure it's alive.
+  Faith teases Dean about whether it's his or not, and he is... not amused.
    +  Electrocutesy Elle seconds that.
+  Brooke is just amazed by Dean's capacity to fail at dealing with this baby, and tries to get him to call the police.
+  Buffy explains about those dolls that cry to Dean, and then gets offended when he suggests he was more worried about someone breaking in his car than about the baby.
+  Molly offers her two cents.
+  Future!Peter suggests that it might have been Sylar's handiwork, since he's on a rampage over being pranked.
+  Claire wonders who would trust Dean with a baby (har har har), but eventually goes to look at it with him and discovers its just a doll.  She is... so disappointed in your life, Dean.
+   Sylar comes to gloat about his prank, and Dean acts unfazed.

-----------------

Cas is playing his cards close to his chest about his worries over everyone's fate in this, but Dean tries to dig it out of him.  Cas tries to use Dean's own methods of avoidance against him.

Dean gets interrogated by Agents Brown and Jones of the Matrix.  I blame Dean's remarkably timely Matrix comment in Dark Side of the Moon on this having happened the day before.

Agents > [livejournal.com profile] we_arethecure

Dean talks to Nate Archibald, and when he finds out he's friends with that asshole, Chuck Bass, he gets a lot less friendly, fast.  Nate accidentally slips up about that whole 'rape' thing.  As if Dean needed more reasons to hate Chuck.

Nate >  [livejournal.com profile] triedtotellher

Saturday: Once more, Cassandra tries to warn Dean of his fate.  And once more, he has no idea what the hell she's saying.
She touches on the misery he's going to feel inside during Easter and warns him of his impending death.

[Log] Easter Sunday:  Dean and Sam head over to Angela Petrelli's for the most awkward Easter dinner of all time.  Dean screws up and brings rabbit and duck to eat for Claire, instead of for pets, like she'd wanted.  He then proceeds to have the worst time ever, only having his distance from these people emotionally reinforced, and having a hard time watching Sam obviously fitting into a new family that he doesn't really feel is his.

-------Post 5x16  Dark Side of the Moon which we moved to Monday--------

Dean's not in the mood for Gabriel's ego trips.

Gabriel > [livejournal.com profile] painhumbles

Dean approaches a broken down Cas after what they learned.  They discuss what to do next, and Castiel is horrified to hear Dean questioning why they're fighting this so hard.

TUESDAY:

--------------

His "heaven"?

Was leavin' us behind.

In which:

+ Percy insists on knowing what Dean is talking about, so Dean tells him about going to heaven and back.  The brief version.
+ Our resident spoiler, Cassandra, predicts that Dean's going to make a big mistake, and that he wants everyone to turn on him; wants a reason to say yes.  He tries to get her to shut up, unsuccessfully.
+ Without revealing that he died, or went to heaven, Dean explains to Brooke about how Sam's favorite memories were of leaving him, and how much that hurt.  She tries to talk him into understanding.  He asks her about how she's been and she tells him about her crazy night of drinking.  He misunderstands for a second and thinks she might have been banging some other guy not that he cares at all.  She convinces him they have to play 'I never' some day.
+ Dean tells Sylar about what happened and where they went.  Sylar gets all emo about how he's never seen emo in all the times he's died.  He has a hard life.  He tells Dean all about how he met Morgan Freeman God, but Dean is pretty sure it's a diffferent God.  Sylar suggests they just replace theirs with that one, and no one will know the difference.  It doesn't really work that way.
+ Electrocutesy!Elle commiserates with Dean about family, and she gets him to tell her he was in heaven.  She finds out the angels are dicks.  And offers Dean drinks anytime.
+ Dean talks to Spike about what he learned from Buffy.  Spike isn't jealous at all, no.  Spike finds out that Sam is Dean's brother, and that Dean's been topside and bottomside, and they talk about Spike's possible fate in hell.
+ Dean checks in with Sparky!Elle and advises her to just push through all the negative emotions after being possessed.
+  Tess and Dean argue religion and the nature of God.  It's... less mature than it sounds.
+ Dean and Castiel talk about this bombshell and assure each other they still have each other's backs.  They talk about Cas becoming mortal.
+ Blair is there to snark away, so her and Dean finally actually talk.  He convinces her to buy him a drink and give her a ride in her limo.  It's... surreal like that.  :3
+ Demon!Dean just loves to... make things worse for Dean by rubbing in that maybe Sam wanted to get away from him.  They argue about demon!Dean hanging around and who can protect Sam better.  Demon!Dean learns that the angels send Dean right back when he dies.
+ Snarky!Elle tells Dean she heard from Cas about God, and he tells her he and Sam went to heaven.  She offers for him to come over and he refuses, which hurts her feelings, because it's been happening more and more often.  He agrees to come over the next night.
+ Michael appears again to offer comfort to Dean, but he's too angry and broken to accept it.  He tells Michael he has to deal with this himself.
+ Dean meets another dead person - Emily, who tries to talk to him about Sam.  But he's worried she's a zombie.
+ Future!Peter learns about Heaven, and Dean explains how he shared one with Sam, and that's how he saw his.  Peter hopes he doesn't share one with Nathan, since he'll never be staying there very long.  Dean explains the whole vessels thing to him, and Future!Peter immediately wants to help, and tries to think of a way to fight Lucifer.  Dean however, is obviously not very optimistic about that, and tells him about what God said.
+ Karen lightens things up by talking about how her heaven has cheese fries.  And that Dean can share them.
+ Ruby 'welcomes' Dean back, and sneakily tries to learn about heaven from him, but he's not going to tell her.
+ Dean explains to Other-Claire about heaven, and what happened.  She expresses that she wishes she could have been the vessel in his place.  She asks him what heaven was like.  He gives her the quick version and talks about Zachariah.  This leads into the log down below directly.

Blair > [livejournal.com profile] alwaysthequeenb
Emily > [livejournal.com profile] peacekeeping
--------------

[Log]  Dean and (Other)Claire continue discussing Heaven, alone in his motel room.  When she professes the extent of how much she wants to help them, and her feelings for him again, out of a mixture of desperation and appreciation, Dean kisses her.  It's a last chance bid to actually feel something, as if he can absorb all the feelings she has for him.  Despite the fact that she's dating Percy, Claire can't deny her feelings for Dean - that she's in love with him - and she responds.  Eventually, however, she stops him, telling him she can't have sex with him, because of Percy, and because she respects herself too much to do so.  He realizes sex wasn't really what he wanted anyways; he just... had no idea how to get from her what he needed.  They discuss their lose-lose situation, and he all but begs her to stay, claiming to need her - hoping that he can still forge some connection to ground him.  Something to find faith in, after losing all his faith in God's love.  She agrees to spend the night with him, without having sex, but they remain rather intimately entangled while he tells her the full story of heaven, and talks about his emotional state.

WEDNESDAY:

Dean assures Buffy that she's probably going back to Heaven when she dies.

Sorry, Nate.  Dean will never be done harping on this 'Chuck's a rapist' thing.

Oh, Dean's just thrilled that Bela's back.

Bela > [livejournal.com profile] insilksheets

[Log]  After spending most of the day drinking, Dean stands up Elle for their date, only to show up at her place at 2am.  She's less than pleased, and horrified when she sees what kind of state he's in emotionally.  He really hurts her when he starts talking about how it might not be so bad if everyone died and went to heaven and she tells him how disappointed she is in the changes in him, and tells him to leave.

THURSDAY:

Brooke surprises Dean when she shows up in NYC, and ... tells him that's why she came.  She takes him lingerie shopping with her.

Molly's freaked after watching the Exorcist and Dean fails at comforting her, when he tells her he's seen worse.  He backpedals by assuring her that Sam & him will always kill all her monsters.

Future!Peter demands everyone take a vacation, but Dean doesn't have time for it.  He also notices something is really wrong, but Dean clams up about what.

--------------

What else'll she be right about?

In which:

+ Dean tells Claire he got in a fight with Elle.  She tells him that Sam has a right to be pissed at him, and he thinks she's talking about what happening with Other-Claire.  They continue having two separate conversations for awhile, until Dean realizes she's talking about him throwing out the amulet.  He explains his side of things to her, and why he's pissed, and she tries to convince him to talk things out with Sam.  She reassures him she loves him.
+ Other-Claire and Dean talk on the phone, about what happened with Elle, and finally, what happened between them.  Claire tells them that she told Percy what happened between them.  He tells her he knows what he did was wrong but he doesn't regret it.  Dean tries desperately to get Claire to not take all the blame for this, and she tells him she can't see him until she falls out of love with him.  It hurts a lot more than he expects but he understands.  He refuses, however, to oblige her by saying hurtful things that will make her get over him faster.  They say their goodbyes.
+ Sylar tries to get Dean to talk about his problems, but he's sure as hell not telling Sylar about this.
+ Sparky!Elle agrees - it's better not knowing the future.
+ Dean tells Electrocutesy!Elle about his fight with other Elle, and what he said to Molly.
+ Cassandra dumps more prophecy in Dean's lap, and he shrugs it off.  Again.  Because he doesn't want to hear about how he's running away from things, or especially not about how he's just another deadbeat dad for doing it.  Thanks, Cassandra.  :C  Dean tries to get her to just... talk about thing that aren't in the future, and she's never had to do that before.
+  Molly tries to cheer Dean up by playing him AC/DC songs on the guitar.
+ Sam forces Dean to talk about what they saw in Heaven, and they get in a fight about it.  Sam tries to get Dean to see reason, but Dean refuses, and his hopelessness leaks through.
+ Hedwig taunts Dean with a copy of Taut Blonde Virgins in his bird-mail, and he ends up spilling out all kinds of stuff about his hard life to the bird, until she gets annoyed with him and makes him stop bitching.
+ Dean talks to Tessa about the afterlife.
+ Dean and Cas talk about Cassandra... and what happened with Claire.

--------Post 5x17 99 Problems -----

Sam breaks the news to everyone that Dean left.  And that he's probably saying yes.  They make plans to try and find him, with Molly's help.

Meanwhile, Other-Claire deals with the emotional fallout of the Percy & Dean situation.  She tells Sylar what happened.

Percy works out his anger on a Dean!dummy.

Crowley and Aziraphale reunite, just in time for another Armageddon.

Dean runs into Michael on his cross country journey, after talking to Lisa.
He asks Michael to watch out for the others.

OTHER STUFF:

This heart-wrenching drabble, written for me by [livejournal.com profile] ihadmittenson  , features Dean and... brings bitch tears to my soul.  "Can I Have This Chance To Be Your Little Romance?"    Dean/Brooke.

"No Illusions About You" ; another really sad piece written for me by the lovely [livejournal.com profile] blueshocks  .  NOT binding, but still lovely.  Dean/Elle.

After Thursday's episode, I stumbled across this amazing little review where someone psycho-analyzed Dean in regards to the Lisa situation, and I was... so glad to find it, because it was my thoughts exactly, and saved me from writing it up.  So if anyone is interested in how I view that, you can basically just... read this!
NOTE THAT FOR THIS WEEK, DEAN WILL BE MIA.  HE WILL BE DOING ONE LOG, WHICH IS HIS ONE FINAL STOP BEFORE THE END OF THE LINE.  THIS MEANS I'M ON COMMENT LOCK DOWN FOR HIM, EXCEPT FOR BACKTAGGING THE ABOVE THREADS.

[identity profile] humanmapquest.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
I...loved that essay. Dean is dependant on Sam, more than Same is on him, and because his family has always been on the hazy side since his mom died, he clings to the slightest bit of connection he has. I remember the episode where the teenager switched bodies with Sam and how Dean was talking about someday liking to have a family life, a quiet life, and Sam being all, "...Nah." If you see Dean's reaction it's nothing short to "-.-"

Not to mention, Dean had to grow up really, really quickly. I mean, there are moments when he's less than mature--a lot, actually--but he was thrusted into a world where monsters are real as a little kid. A really little kid. It would fuck up anyone.

And the Dean and Ben thing was...heartbreaking. Because, he doesn't see Ben, he just sees Sam, like the person says. :/

[identity profile] likedillinger.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
I'm so glad you approved of it :3 Because honestly it's like... that's exactly how I ... choose to interpret and play Dean too. That moment you're talking about in the car when Dean doesn't respond is... one of those most telling beautiful moments on the show, I think. I cherish it. ;_;

And yes, he is... massively fucked up. I think that's important to keep in mind. He tries to hold it together and never show that because... as I think that person also said, which also pleased me, because I fully believe it, Dean has always derived all his personal happiness from making other people happy. So he never wants to be a burden on them. Ever. It's one reason he... never burdens them with his emotions and problems.

And yeah, I know, right? ;_; I wrote to Jaki in the CR meme about how Dean has all these issues about... being more like Sam's dad than Sam's brother, and I think that translates directly to this Ben thing too.

HRNGH BITCH TEARS.

[identity profile] humanmapquest.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
I think losing his mom kind of numbs him from experiencing actual love with another female? Not to be Freud at all, but, he never really had female, non-hunter influences in his life. Then again, he DOES long for connection--any kind. I think that's why, too, he's such a horny toad: sex, even fleeting, is the closest thing he could get to another way of connecting to another person. He's broken, dead, but he's going to use any avenue he can to feel somewhat alive.

I think Dean takes after his mom, especially the bits we've seen of young!Mary. /random

It was kind of his duty to take care of Sam from the get-go, though. And John was too obsessed with his quest and scarred, himself, to really be the father both of them needed, just like both were too young to know what having a mother would be like. So Dean had to be the obligatory obnoxious big brother who pranked his little brother/called him a girl, as well as his protector and mentor. So the...Ben VS Sam thing is just another reminder that his hard life is hard and how Dean, who never really complains and the scene where he breaks down and prays for help while Sam is going all "RAH" from demon blood enforces it too, never complains while everyone else does.

...that's why he has Bobby there, to bring him back to earth.

[identity profile] likedillinger.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
LMFAO no I... totally agree. See here (http://likedillinger.livejournal.com/9506.html?thread=334626#t334626) and here (http://likedillinger.livejournal.com/26469.html?thread=671077#t671077) for examples. And... really that whole log with Claire is about that kind of thing. Hrnghhh.

I think that's... what is so compelling and horrible and sad about what's going on now with Dean and what I love playing him for. He's always been so strong and so selfless, and it's just... breaking him from the inside out with all this pressure that he's... keeping on himself. And so that's why I had him... take some selfish actions, and that's ultimately what his going off to see Michael is, because he... wants to just be done suffering. Though to himself, he's justifying it as if he's not going to be harming the people in his life anymore, since Sam 'didn't even want him there', which is crock, plus of course he'll end up harming Sam if he says yes. But he's just so ... done inside. With everything. :C

And oh god if they lost Bobby, I can't imagine...

[identity profile] humanmapquest.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
Honestly? Molly's going to have issues with the opposite sex--thanks to the neglect brought on by Matt and Mohinder, the fact she'll replace every "male figure" she has in her life with her bio-dad's face, and the fact Maury and Sylar both scarred her so deeply for a child so young--for the rest of her life. She's too young to use sex as a consolation, but the way things are going I can see her doing exactly that which is...heart breaking. Mostly because, probably like Dean once upon a time, Molly has a lot of potential to be more than that. And HNNNNNNG. So much hard life. Is it sad that I kind of hope Ben IS his son, just for the guy to have some effing hope?

Meh. He...was probably at his wits end, to be honest, and Sam's heaven probably was the breaking point Dean needed to be all, "F-U LIFE WHATEVER MICHAEL USE ME, BABY, USE ME LIKE A PUPPET."

Dude. If they lost Bobby, they WOULD be in a padded room. I mean, even Dean knows he's effed up, but Bobby is like the dad John never got to be. :C

ANGST MUCH GEEZ?

(And, hi! I miss youuuu. A lot. ♥)

[identity profile] likedillinger.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
IT'S CANON'S FAULT, I just... expand on it. :C I knew what direction they were taking Dean from spoilers and so I've been winding him that way and utterly ruining his life and it's... the most fun ever.

I miss you too. :( We should talk or RP or ... some such some night. ♥

[identity profile] huntedhunter.livejournal.com 2010-04-12 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Seriously! we need to even if it's not with Sam and Dean.

...and it's okay. I do enjoy making Sam miserable as he possibly can be from time to time. Cause clearly neither boy's life sucks enough! Poor guys. : \

[identity profile] electrocutesy.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
Oh wow, that essay is amazing. Thank you for linking it! I stay away from SPN fandom because I hear it's batshit (lol this coming from someone who's forever shackled by the Twilight fandom rofl) but I knew a lot of people would probably have a beef with the Lisa and Ben thing. I for one thought it was very much like Dean and the essay just completely and totally explained it in a way I didn't even understand that I understood it just yet. (Did that sentence make sense? W/E.)

[identity profile] likedillinger.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
YW! I wanted to share the awesome. I usually stay away from fandom too, but when I do look now, it's ... not as bad as I expect, actually. Maybe I just don't go to the scary places.

And yes, that made sense. xD

[identity profile] roads-end.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
Jumping in, but would it be cool to do another thread sometime with your Dean? I figure it'd be better to wait out after the next SPN episode though.

[identity profile] likedillinger.livejournal.com 2010-04-13 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I must have missed this :C But yes! Definitely after the next ep though. Dean's... doing a whole lotta nothin' til then.

[identity profile] roads-end.livejournal.com 2010-04-13 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what I figured. Jawsome, thanks. :3
