Notes |  It's been awhile since I got one of these done b/c I'm a lazy bastard, but that's okay because... I get to make my comeback with this one.  For those of you missing the context, I'm almost... inclined to not provide any, but I will.  During our infamous Greek myths in Nebraska plot, Dean pissed off Eros & Aphrodite and got shot in the ass with one of Cupid's arrows, causing him to fall in love with the ever-present Hedwig the owl.  He saw her as a hot chick - everyone else saw Dean trying to hump an owl.  It was pretty much magical and you should go read it all here and here.  I endeavoured to make this mix as offensive to Dean's life as possible so it's... stacked with O-town.  8 tracks.   You can still request your own retarded mix here.  Download it inside.

Don't give me that look.  This is the... non-crazy-romance part of the mix, ok?  For Dean & Hedwig's general adventures.  Because Dean is just insensitive enough to think Hedwig was a duck or something, instead of an owl.  Anyways, I imagine them like... solving mysteries and shit together in the Impala.  And the part about "when they're headed for the final curtain/ bold deduction never fails, that's for certain" is totally when Dean was turned into a pig and only Hedwig's delivery of a letter to Hogwarts allowed Sam to deduce which pig was his brother and save his life.

OMG I forgot about this song until I was trying to work out the title for this mix and remembered these lyrics and went 'huh, I wonder if the rest of the song works'.  And lo and behold it's ... the most perfect one on here.  I love that there's even a line about 'locked you up and lost the key' since Castiel had to lock Dean in the impala away from the bird before he... did something really disturbing that he would regret later.  Also, I love that it's all angsty with the 'deep inside, I've been falling apart' because Season Five Dean is just... one big spiral of fail and this was all... part of that lead up.  Also I love that this song is simultaneously cheesy and 80s sounding, and... actually really good and catchy.  I feel as if that parallels the story line well.
